Today's topic will be the importance of pigeons' bath.If you are reading this, it means either you have pigeons or at least you are a fan of pigeons.
If you have pigeons, then I'd like to ask, how are your pigeons doing?I hope you're taking real good care of your pigeons.
Alright, moving toward the topic.

Why let your pigeons take baths?

Bathing is essential for each and every animals.There is a lot of benefits of bath.These are the benefits of pigeons for taking baths:
1.keeping them clean
2.protecting them from external parasites
3.keeping them sexually active
4.lower their body temperature(during summer)
5.refreshing their body and minds

1.Keeping them clean

No one likes to be dirty.Being filthy can lead to some serious diseases even for human being.If you keep your pigeons filthy, they will often get sick or unproductive.
Just keep some water in a medium size bowl and they will take bath and clean themselves.They love to do it too.You can say that taking bath is lot like their hobby.

2.Protecting them from external parasites

External parasites are lices and mites.These are pretty harmful to your pigeons.They look like this:

You can get rid of them easily by mixing some medicines into theri bathing water.I will tell you about what you can mix into their bath water in the end.If you let your
pigeons take baths in medicinal water twice or thrice a week, they should be fine.If your pigeons get affected by the parasites like the picture above, then you should
give them hand bath.I mean give them bath by your hand, not by themselves.

3.Keeping them sexually active

If your pigeons don't take baths for a long time, male pigeons may become inactive sexually.If that happens, your pigeons will become non-productive.

4.Lower their body temperature(During summer)

If the weather is too hot, it can be a huge problem for your pigeons specially if you fly your pigeons.This increases their boy temperature so high that it can lead to
deaths of your pigeons.So let them take baths during summer time.But not if it rains.Remember, only let your pigeons take baths if only if there is sunlight.

5.Refreshing their body and mind

Your pigeons will become lot inactive if they never get any chance to take baths.Bathing will refresh anyone's body and mind.Just let them take their baths and they will
be fresh and healthy as new always.

What can you mix in your pigeons' bath water?

There are two types of pigeon bath:
1.medicinal bath
2.herbal bath

Medicinal bath: you can use these two medicines
1.Potassium permanganate
2.Borox

Potassium permanganate:Works great.I myself suggest you to use this.There is no risk using this.Just make sure
you don't make the water too blurry while it into your pigeons' bath water.Just take
a pinch and mix it in the water.

Borox :This is actually poison.Yes, I agree that it will give you 100% result but I'm not really a big fan of
risking my pigeons' lives.When you use this one, make sure it is dissolved into the water
properly.Or else, when your pigeons start prining after taking their baths, they might get
poisoned as well.

Herbal bath
I will tell you two methods of herbal bath as well.One is using garlics in the bathing water and the other is using turmaric powder,ginger and salt.Garlic has many benefits
on pigeons heath.you can say that it is the most useful herb to treat your pigeons with nature.Just throw some smashed garlic clombs(2/3 per liter) and keep the waterjust like that
for some times.Then either you can give your pigeons bath by yourself or let them take bath by themselves.This will keep them healthy and parasites free.Using turmaic
powder,ginger and salt together in warm bath water also helps your pigeons stay fit and fresh all times.

Asides of these, you can just use normal plain water for their baths.It will help them stay clean.
