…cancer (whisper it when you say it)
maybe a little pain.
But there's so much to do,
you just look the other way.
inside your cherished vessel.
Ravaging your core,
while you're still unaware.
silent and swift.
Taking no prisoners,
refusing to quit.
cuts like a knife.
Relentless and willing,
no mercy at all.
you're not ready to go.
But the look in their eyes,
tells you it's so...
it's whispered in fear.
For what it is known for
will be the last thing you hear.
but still all alone,
This journey your on
...you'll take on your own.

Great poem.
Thanks @bola!
Sadness and truth in this poem! Medical science can't kick it's butt soon enough.
I'll drink to that... Cheers @kenny-crane

My boyfriend's aunt was recently diagnosed, for the second time. You captured the feeling perfectly, as always!

Awesome poem, it sad also the fact that cancer is mostly a manufactured problem. The picture you chose really emphasizes that too. Good expression of what it really is.
It is sad... Thanks.
