ARE NIGERIAN YOUTHS REALLY LAZY?

in #politics7 years ago

According to Nigerian president, Mohamandu Buhari in London last week tagged alot of Nigerian youths as being lazy and illiterates .
The big question is " Are Nigerian Youths Lazy"?
According to google.com the word "lazy" can be defined as unwilling to work or not willing to use energy.
Can we really say Nigeria youths are unwilling to work?
First of all before you say a person is unwilling to work there should be a task or a job available to be carried out. So can we say there are jobs in Nigeria and there are no body to fill up the vacancies? As we speak the rate of unemployment in Nigeria is so high in the white collar job sector that the youths have resort to self helping the blue collar job sector. When you tour the streets of Nigeria you will see youths with various degrees and certificate trying to meet ends need. Some even go to the extent of doing menial jobs like janitorial services, gardeners and the likes. A lazy man will hide under the excuse of no jobs and sleep away their time. But in Nigeria the reverse is the case. Yet Nigerian youths are tagged lazy.
Secondly, every year thousands of Nigerians graduates from different tertiary institutions all over the country with different certificate and grades yet Nigerians were tagged illiterates. Against all odds such as strike actions, expensive fees, unfavorable learning environment and the likes the Nigerians youths still strives to graduate yet someone who cannot boast of ordinary SSCE tagged youths illiterates.
I want to use this medium to tell the whole world that Nigerian youths are not lazy and illiterates as they were painted to be. We are hardworking and intelligent. Against all odds we still strive to be among the best in the world.
