GIVING ALMS TO THE POOR

Everybody is not born to be rich neither is everybody born to be poor, our Maker who created us has destined everything. Some will be rich, others will be poor, some will have today, tomorrow they will have nothing. The wise one will help today just for his Maker's sake probably he will also get help tomorrow when he's down with nothing.
It's quite disheartening and barbaric when some people in the society today who are able and financially buoyant enough to give alms to the poor or less privileged but refuse to do so. When these people(the poor) come to them, they call in their kids and close their doors. They forget God that created human has many things in stock for individual, if they don't proffer help for the less privileged, they will surely get help from somewhere else. But it will do them good if they actually help, because proffering help is never in vain. Allaah says: "And repulse not the beggar" (Q93:10)
This reminds me of a saying that goes thus; "I learned to give. Not because I have plenty, but because I know how it feels to have nothing". If only the rich could actually remember that there were some times in the past, things were rough and weren't going smoothly, they would know, how it feels to have nothing. Being poor doesn't mean one won't be successful in life and also being in poverty today doesn't mean one won't be in wealth tomorrow. The only thing is that priority has to be set, one should not because of a particular situation do what is forbidden.
Hardworking, steadfastness, prayer and patience to wait for the right time are the way out. Because Allaah says: "O you who believe, seek help in patience and As-salat (the prayer) Truly! Allaah is with As-sabirin (the patient ones, etc)". (Q2:153)
However, whether one is poor or rich, it is obligatory on ones to always give thanks to Allaah. In addition to this, the rich have to praise Him with their wealth by giving alms to the poor, so that He would replenish it for them and grant them goodness. Both should always remember Him and they shouldn't be ungrateful to Him whatsoever, in this way would He always remember them, as Allaah says: " Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying, etc) I will remember you, and be grateful to Me(for my countless Favors on you) and never be ungrateful to Me". (Q2:152).
Therefore, if you have, always endeavor to give, because no one can guarantee you having always. Remember life is not fair, it is ephemeral and transient. You may have today and tomorrow you may have nothing, the people you assist today may be those that will help you tomorrow by Allaah's will. Being rich doesn't make ones god, it's by Allaah's blessings, so do not be arrogant because the prophet said among the people of hell are the arrogant ones(Al-bukhaaree). Also, being poor is not the end of everything because with time things will definitely get better In shaa'aLlaah.
