The Dead Lands - Short review

in #review8 years ago (edited)

The Dead Lands,

It appeared on my Netflix list, added it to my watch list and didn't watch it until last week, and boy did I get positively surprised about this movie. It had action, it had story and the characters was great.

I should be honest and say that I don't now too much about Maori and people from New Zealand, Only actor that  I know is from New Zealand is Temoura Morrison (the guy that played Jango Fett and the clone troops in Star Wars, and Jake the Muss in Once were Warriors and Moanas dad in Moana. But now I have another name to remember  Lawrence Makoare who plays the Warrior in this movie, he is a Anti-hero but I liked him so much and felt sorry for him.

I don't want to say watch this to learn more about Maori, as I don't know too much as said before to give such a statement. But if you want a good action movie with, watch it and enjoy, its a bit bloody and Cannibalism is included in the story, so if you don#t like that, keep away, but if you don't mind it watch away. As a Note its not a splatter movie or a horror movie, it is similar to Apocalypse by Mel Gibson, but better!

Another note: Majority of the actors are well trained and agile, and I do believe most of them did their own stunts, not sure, but they don't look like bodybuilders (300 series) which I like, as I don#t find it believable that a whole people look like they was grown in muscle beach.

I really hope I see more movies like this, I have a Viking movie in my watch list that I probably will review next time.
