Scorpions are predatory arachnids. Their scientific name is Scorpiones. They have eight legs and are easily recognized by a pair of grasping pincers and a narrow, segmented tail, often carried in a characteristic forward curve over the back and always ending with a sharp stinger. Scorpion stings are painful but rarely life-threatening. Although being venomous predators, scorpions are valuable as prey (food) because many are relatively large and quite abundant(plenty). Birds (mostly owls 🦉), lizards 🦎, a few small snakes🐍, mammals (some rodents and carnivores), frogs 🐸and toads all eat scorpions.
