Grid tie or off grid what one

Off grid maybe not so great:

When you hear solar the first thing that instantly pops into someones mind is . Off grid. While off grid would be nice it the price may be out of range for most . Choosing solar can be expensive already but is a luxary if you can afford and do it properly. When doing off grid solar you will have added expense of batteries, controllers place to put the batteries . If they are led acid somewhere they can vent. And the added maintence of the things . Right now i didnt see off grid something i wanted to fool with because of all the hassels it would have for my area . To go offgrid . Your solar array must provide enough power to power your home for the coldest snowiest most miserable day of the year or you will have to have some type generator. This adds yet another expense and more maintenance . Thankfully now days with electric cars coming more mainstream lithium energy dense batteries are going to become a thing that is much cheaper hopefully in the next 10 or so years. Off grid does have a lot of advantages though.  Imagine your power company for some reason shuts down for 2 weeks or so. Your prepared with hopefully the  best . You have a huge solar array and only lithium batteries with plenty of storage instead of having to rely on a generator (in that type situation fuel would become scarce ) supply and demand . Your home keeps kicking . Cool air satellite tv deep freeze so your food dont spoil  . But all this comes at a cost .  This is something to think of
