Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid. Betting options

We are getting close to the European super Cup played on Wednesday between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. This match-up has slowly grown to be an El Classico, which is very good for not just Spanish football but football altogether. Although I’m not a fan of Atletico because of the style they play and they offer very little profit opportunities because you never know if they will win by 1-0 or 3-0 or 2-1, this way jeopardizing an under or over 2.5 goals scored.

Ronaldo leaving RM leaves them without their top scorer since he came to Madrid and some might say that Atletico has the upper hand but let’s just think before we say anything. Who will take Ronaldo’s place in the team? We have 3 options.

Bale would be the first in my opinion, and I have to say, the guy has a good judgement of the game, he knows what he needs to do, and does it. He scored in most games last season he played in, twice in the CL Final. It can’t be overlooked.

Second option is Asensio. He is young, and very talented. Beginning of last season he had a good start, some forgot about it, but just have a look at a few of his goals. He is fast, and has good football IQ, unfortunately, last season I have noticed that he was seeking hi teammates approval when playing, didn’t want to take chances after a while. He also played for the Spanish team in the world cup, managers still consider him a good player, he just needs to believe in himself more and Ronaldo leaving could give him this strength.

Vasquez will be the 3rd option and he has similar qualities as Asensio, most times helping out on the offensive side with his speed and good passing skills. Still young, he could be a great player.

We can’t forget the fact that Lopetegui is the new manager of RM, which could mean that he will mix the team up a and give new life to players who were not given the opportunity to play under Zidane’s management.
No matter how we analyze RM, they should be the favorites.

Atletico has not changed anything this season, not for the better nor for the worse. They the same team as last season same manager which could mean 2 things. They will be looking for vengeance after a few decisive matches lost to RM and that they most likely try to defend and catch their opponents on counters.

With such a important match I think there will be lots of contacts and yellow cards. A penalty is possible.
