The two-storey bridge Dom Luís connects the historic center of Porto with Vila Nova de Gaia - a part of the famous port wine store. 3045 tons of steel is used at the bottom of the cars and up the subway sets. Pedestrians, cyclists and skaters can also cross the bridge on both floors. The bridge was designed by the engineer Teófilo Seyrig and gave him impressive dimensions - 395 meters long and 8 meters wide. The bridge arch is still considered one of the largest in the world. The Bridge of Dom Luis I was inaugurated in 1886 and since then it has dominated this charming Portuguese city.
