The Final Update for Steem Apps in 2018 (Update #3)
Alrighty, this will be the last update for Steem Apps in 2018. But I'd say: it's a pretty good one.
So, let's finish 2018 with a bang!
4 days ago, I've released the #2 update for Steem Apps and the feedback I've received was amazing!
While some of the wanted features we're already on my roadmap, there were a few things I haven't thought about.
Especially @coingecko's feedback was so good, that I decided to implement some of it already. Not everything, of course, the rest requires more development, design & planning time, but most of it has been added to Steem Apps with this update.
So, without further ado, let's get started.
New Features & Changes
- Filtering of app types is now available with a separate drop-down menu.
- Filtering of categories has been added with the new drop-down style.
- The type and category of an app are now displayed in an enhanced way, to save column space.
- The whole row of an app is now clickable and redirects to the detail page of the app.
- Tooltips have been added - for example, to explain what each column is representing
Many of these new changes required work on the style & logic of existing elements.

What's next?
Next, I'll work on showing general data about Steem (as in the total number of transactions, daily-average-users over Steem in general) and of course, to explain what Steem actually is.
If this is my last post in 2018
.. then I want to wish each one of you a very smooth ride into the new year.
Maybe I'll create another one in a spontaneous rush, but that's not guaranteed.
If you haven't read my Year's End Review for 2018, it's definitely worth a read. You might even be mentioned in my wall of gratitude.
For me, 2018 has been an amazing year. I would have never believed that I'd be able to create a website like Steem Apps by year's end, but as always, determination and diligence is everything.
May each one of you have an amazing start into 2019!
All the best,
Wolf

Happy New Year!
Thanks for the review, @helo.
I can understand that few/no comments and big commits are not a best practice. It's something I want to work on, but I'm a practical developer. Formatted posts, more smaller commits, comments & explanations, etc. - all of that is icing on the cake, in my opinion. The important part is the code.
And I've spend at least a working day on the given PR. Since you're a developer, you know that code doesn't just magically appear, but has to be written, tested, tweaked, fixed, written again, etc.
Now, I want to be very clear about one thing: I haven't created this project for monetary reasons. It's open-source and has the simple goal to bring as much value as possible to Steem.
However, since Utopian is on Steem and leveraging the reward pool, I thought utopian would show a bit more support for the submitted PR. Again, I believe that the missing things are icing on the cake, but the important part, the code and the invested time for it, has been delivered.
Everything is about incentives. If people see that valuable projects for Steem, are getting a lot more rewards than contributions for projects, which have absolutely nothing to do with Steem, then people will focus their attention & energy on the valuable projects.
And honestly, isn't this what we all need on Steem? More valuable projects which are increasing the value of Steem? And which are worth the debt of inflated tokens they receive?
With that said; those are just my thoughts - I'll keep on improving Steem Apps, regardless of rewards or upvotes, but I'd appreciate it, if my written text would be taken seriously. I want Utopian to succeed and to attract & reward as many of the best developers, as possible.
Thank you for your review, @helo! Keep up the good work!

Great job. Steemapps looks good and has very fast moderation (as opposed to e.g. steemprojects). Thank you for added Discut.io to Steemapps :). Happy New Year and I wish you every success.
My pleasure - have a smooth ride into the new year!
Great work and happy new year
