Steemit. Amazing for research!

in #steemit6 years ago

Well, everyone’s gotta admit.. Steemit looks pretty crazy! In a positive way of course. You can create content that people read. Give your blog some tags and get like-minded people to follow you and your content. And do the same in return. Reading about things you like, seeing things that are astonishing or just funny. Steemit is a place for all.

Yet what I haven’t read is that people actually see it as a base for research. Of course, everyone can share their opinions and twist some facts and you still need to filter out to good from the bad. But when you’re searching, for example, information about cryptocurrency, than you can just go to that tag and find worthy posts. I’ve done it the past months, before joining stemt myself, and read up on articles to gain knowledge and make educated guesses on the crypto market. But what makes it tick so good?

Upload content, quick and easy

Steemit is a place where you can upload your content, quick and easy. Before you could post some content on your Wordpress blog and gain viewers. Yet the problem here was it was just from one person and you couldn’t cross-reference the information unless you find other blogs. Then you have Medium. Quite nice actually but people weren’t talking about things I liked a lot.
Then there is Steemit, a place where you can post about anything. Even your dog. You can cross-reference so smooth here and the audience you get as a blogger is way bigger!

Gotta admit, everyone is enthusiastic

People love Steemit, and you can follow people you actually like and the content they post. On top of that, they get rewarded as well. But to get people enthusiastic about you and your content it must have some kind of value. This can be humor, information or just entertaining to read. Find the people you like to follow and the content you like and just get that research going!

Network, Network, Networking!

Steemit is the place to get a bigger network. People that are energetic, ambitious and are interested seek new people to discover and share knowledge with. Talk with people and share that knowledge. You can help each other grow. Research isn’t only reading, it’s talking too!

The power of Tagging

As a blogger or as a person who had to find information about a subject, you might have had trouble with SEO. You wanted to be found or find something but your keywords aren’t that great. You had to consider every written word to get that piece of information. You don’t have to worry about that here. Just use a few tags that are most important and you will be found!

The power of knowledge

Having a lot of knowledge is great. Great for yourself and perhaps others if you get that knowledge out there. But what drives people to share? Having a stage and share it is great and all, but Steemit is too informal for that (unfortunately). So how do you get people to share good and valuable knowledge? Through cryptocurrency. People actually get money for sharing here, and the better the knowledge (and your audience group), the more you earn. So it pays of to have knowledge and share it!

I’m curious… Do you guys use Steemit for research purposes? To check out data for cryptocurrency, or perhaps inspiration about photography? :) Let me know!
