Masjid Jamek, Jalan Tun Perak is one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur. The mosque was built by Indian traders originating from India at the junction of the Klang River and Gombak River, during the British colonial era. The mosque is located close to Dataran Merdeka, Putra LRT station, and Star LRT. This mosque became one of the indicator that Kuala Lumpur is the City of Islamic Culture.

The mosque was designed by Arthur Benison Hubback and was officially opened by Sultan Selangor in 1909. The architecture of Masjid Jamek in Moorish style
