Introduction

Greetings everyone. Welcome to the Day 13 update along our 100 day poetry journey. Day 13 will be beginning as of 6 PM GMT on March 19. Our live poetry class in the Steemit School Discord will begin at that hour as well, lasting until 8 PM GMT. All interested in learning more about poetry are welcome to attend, not just participants in the challenge. Towards the end of our class we recite poetry for each other, so feel free to bring something in to read!

Changes to challenge operation & reminders

On Saturday & Sunday we took a break from meeting in the daily poetry class. It is my intention to take weekends off from meeting to get other things done. Going forward, we may have classes on weekends hosted by others, so stay tuned for that information! Otherwise, things largely remain the same! Now that the hype has died down, are you focused on what you wish to achieve during these 100 days? Hard, consistent work may not be glamorous, but it is effective at encouraging long term growth!

Class recap

We didn't meet on Saturday or Sunday, but on Friday we reviewed many basic aspects of poetry that we have covered in the first 10 days. We went especially into the topic of writer's block & artistic inspiration for a while and heard some different perspectives there. I reiterated my philosophy that writing is not different from any other craft such as farming or carpentry. One must get rid of myths and excuses regarding inspiration/ability to produce to become prolific, a characteristic of the majority of our beloved artists who stand the test of time. Of course, we heard other views as well, including the idea that to force writing is harmful.

We also discussed many strategies that may help when feeling creatively "stuck." The common thread running through them seemed to be to somehow change your approach in order to get past the obstacle. We also heard many poets read their pieces at the end which was fun as always! Today we will have another general class to take more questions about poetry fundamentals which we weren't able to get to on Friday. Come join! Class runs from 6 PM - 8 PM GMT. https://discord.gg/yZvYjfM

Ah certainly it was amazing writing and recording "Ugonma" it's a poem that really sucked it out of me, the feedback I got from you and the guys was too amazing, em I glad to promote the African beauty.

Thank you certainly I'm glad it made the cut, it's been amazing how things are reallyy turning out, I know it's been challenging for you, do keep it buddy, you're really onto something big with this huge project.

Keep up sir, amazing it's been once again

The streets will flow with the blood of the non-believers...

I admire all the poets, who knew that they're poets and who has discovered this in themselves thanks to the challenge!, you guys have a lot of courage to participate! And I can't express with words how much this idea means not just to the community, but to entire humanity, because nowadays it's so hard to find something that is not stupid or meaningless, something that plants some precious seeds in our souls...

Thank you, d-pend. A great big congratulations to the other winners and to those who continue on in the challenge. Everyday, I have had the same thought go through my head. What am I going to write about? And everyday I chose just one thought and let it flow from there. Creativity is a flow and it's always one. Just begin and things will come to you.

I am sorry I am not able to spend much time on Discord. Some of you may know that I am a single mom to an 8-year old and so free time isn't my forte. But who knows maybe in the future. But I am actively reading your work and loving it:)

We can DEW this thing:):):)

Greetings to all my people of #steemitschool and, especially, to the invaluable friend @ d-pend, for the emotional commitment to this project in which he is giving so much effort and time of his life, giving us great opportunities for participation and growth I feel immensely flattered to have been highlighted on day 7 with my beloved creature: "eternal guest", due to the strong emotional load it contains. Thank you, thank you all. Without the joint work, none of this would be possible. Let's continue dreaming, believing and creating.

Ah the innovators using the blockchain for advancement of art, communication and free learning.

Great initiative has my vote. I may have to attend class as well at some point when time permits.

Well done!

WOW!!! I'm so glad I came across this post now. I can't wait to participate in one of your challenges. I love poetry and have been looking for my people here. Seems I'm finally home. Can't wait to plug in and get involved. I'm joining the channel already

Thanks for your efforts @d-pend. I think it will be even better now. I have a lot on my mind and I'm considering just brushing up on poetry for another 3 months or so.

Congratulations to the Amazing winners of the contest.. Daniel i must really commend you on this effort you making, can't believe its day 13 already it still feels like you started yesterday. More greese to your elbow. 13 down, 87 more days to go... go @d-pend!!!

Are these sessions offered each night? I would love to attend but have a prior commitment this evening. Please excuse my ignorance -- I am new to Steemit. Nevertheless, I am happy to discover a community of poets here and am now following your feed.

Congratulations to the winners! It's a gigantic and lovely effort. I really appreciate this opportunity; although it's quite demanding for me writing a poem a day, I couldn't be more grateful, for it is been the best writing experience I’ve had so far in my life. Thank you all, and specially to the organizers and sponsors ♥
