Steemvoter.com Lives On! @thecryptodrive and @marcgodard co-owner alliance formed!
I am really thankful to the Steemit community who banded together behind me to help save the previously unprofitable steemvoter.com project through a crowdsourced fundraiser, I managed to reach an understanding with @marcgodard, where we came to a 50/50 co-ownership arrangement starting yesterday the 25th November 2016.
I like this idea better because Marc can still be involved in the community and continue operating as project developer while I handle the public facing aspects and provide ideas.
The crowdfund was made possible through community upvotes and the direct donations of the below fantastic people, who I will soon add to a private steemit.chat channel to join in on helping guide the future of steemvoter.com. Thanks everyone!

My first order of business as co-owner was to suggest we give away one of our 7 weekly payment votes to the @steemsports charity post organised by the @steempowertwins , @applecrisp and @theprophet0. You can read about the initiative to donate canned goods to the Holland Rescue Mission here on the SteemSports Blog.
We were proud to add a few hundred extra votes and in the region of 30$ in votes to this outreach project and look forward to the blog post by the @steempowertwins showing us the results of the donations.
I introduced @marcgodard today to a Beyond Bitcoin hangout where he got to meet @fuzzyvest and the rest of the regulars, he seemed to have a good time and felt more included in the community. We were just flies on the wall to start, but then we got pulled into the chat to speak about steemvoter.com and had some interesting conversations on how we could provide solutions for curation guilds such as those of @instructor2121 and Beyond Bitcoin, which we are considering some of the ideas we threw around and may post about it soon for community feedback.
Marc worked on a few upgrades:
- You now can click on buttons to reveal your SP and Voting power on your accounts.
- Removed cache so you can login and out of different user accounts without the previously logged in account being cached.
Shortly we will Open Source the Python bot part of the software as suggested by @pharesim, which will be available on Github.
We are not very strong on Python and hope the community will us help optimise this script for a better voting experience.

Awesome, so glad steemvoter is receiving support. I did not know it was having trouble, If i did I would have donated just like all the amazing steemians did.
Thank you for your work on this both of you, It is a great project you started to create equality for all the non techies who can't code there own bot.
Thank you so much for the supportive comment @ballinconscious!
No problem, you deserve all the support you can get. Glad you have made this successful partnership!
Great! I'm really glad Steemvoter is going to survive and carry on. :)
Steemvoter on!!
I understand that you have the right to use one vote from each account for self-promotion (and this is fine for me, don't worry), but I have the impression that you have also used the votes of the registered people to promote someone else's post. Is that correct? If yes, maybe would it be nice to indicate it clearly on the FAQ.
Edit to be clearer: I am totally in favor of an automated vote on steemvoter posts. You guys deserve it. For posts from other accounts, I would like to keep the right to decide.
Hello @lemouth, thank you for your contact. Yes you are correct, we did cede two of our payment votes for causes we thought worthy, the first being to the @steemsports charity project in collaboration with the @steempowertwins to deliver canned goods to the Holland Rescue Mission on behalf of @steemsports and steemit.com, thereafter we supported the @steempower twins themselves because they have really stood up and are trying to do good in the community, besides helping to deliver food for charity, they also provide worthy authors with personalised video comments to make the authors feel valued, but they can't really monetise the videos due to comments not being popular to upvote and need sponsorship to keep doing what they are doing for the community.
You are however correct, the right protocol would have been to announce that we would be ceding our payment votes to other causes and put it in our terms and conditions.
We admit that we got so caught up in excitement of doing good that it did not occur to us to do this beforehand. We have since been discussing putting out a post to signify our intent to cede up to two of our weekly votes to help other causes and maybe even new users in the introducemyself tag with a nice Steemit/Steemvoter welcome.
We think it would be really cool if we as a community pooled our votes to make a bigger difference than we could do separately. The contributors to the Steemvoter crowdfund will be added to a special channel soon and perhaps they would like to help us seek out worthy content for the votes we cede.
Thanks for your advice regarding updating our terms and conditions.
