Enlighten (One of my 3D modeling creations) - Are we living in a simulation?

When I think about Artificial Intelligence (AI), I wonder what they would "think". At what point do they think they are human? One concept is that we are living in a simulation. Great minds, such as Elon Musk, believe reality is a simulation created by a superintelligence.

What could be the possibilities? Why does this not sound possible? Why does it sound possible?

The way gaming is becoming more realistic, how would a game look one million years from now? Could it be possible that a billion year old "creator" made us and we are part of its simulation?
