THE DIARY GAME | 5/23/2021 | Florida Girl
So, I am new to steemit and still learning my way. Today I thought it would be fun to share a day in the life with a girl from the west coast of Florida. It’s pretty simple really, I usually start my day with coffee and let the dogs out. A pretty normal task most of us do. I have two dogs and my mother who now lives with us also has a dog, so our pack is a fierce threesome. My daughter has a cat but she’s quite snobby and pretty much sticks to her only.
Me, alive after some coffee and getting dressed for our usual Sunday adventures. Oh, I can’t forget the four-legged friends that sit and wait by the front door for me whether I am coming or going.
Once we went out, we did some food shopping so I could make dinner. In the past, I would tell people that I was not a cook at all. In fact, I hated to cook. I was more known to be the takeout queen. When we were all devastated by Covid-19 and during the quarantine days I picked up cooking as a new hobby. It happened unexpectedly really. I would watch discovery plus and all the various cooking shows. So today my recipe I chose to make is called Tuscan shrimp.
Being from the west coast of Florida makes it somewhat easy to get my hands on some yummy shrimp so a lot of my recipes tend to surround that and some other plates of seafood. With that said, I am also a beef lover, Italian food, Asian food, and especially Puerto Rican food. I’m sure I will share more posts with my recipes, and I would love any feedback.
Once I was home from all the shopping it was not time to prep for my entrée. Cleaning the shrimp and cutting everything up is almost like meditation for me.
After a successful dinner and the family is all happy, we wind down by the pool with a glass of wine. The four-legged friends must join us.
My kids are my heart and here you can see me goofing off with my youngest, Breanna. She is 13 and the jokester in the family. She is also the one who likes to test my limits the most but she has the biggest heart so she tends to get away with way more than she should.
Hubby and I always end our day with sitting upstairs in our bedroom and for about an hour before bed, we will watch good ole discovery plus. We will go from watching home shows where people buy islands or build cabins in Alaska to the cooking shows. One of our bucket list adventures is to make a mapped-out vacation to follow numerous restaurants that Guy Fieri visited on his show diners and drives in. It is one of our favorites!
