Road trip!

Last year around this time, my best friend, her sister and her boyfriend and I went on a week long road trip in the USA. We are all from Canada so it was pretty cool to hit the open road and see where we ended up.

We left at 4:00am on Saturday morning with the goal of getting to Kentucky by dinner time. I know that sounds like a pretty easy feat but you don't know my friends, they aren't straight shot people.

Day three met us with the road again, we only had a week to do everything we wanted, but this time we were headed for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where we took a helicopter ride in a thunderstorm.

Myrtle beach was the first time I'd ever seen the ocean apart from in pictures and movies, so it was a pretty cool experience for me even though it rained.

Our final days on our road trip would be spent headed back up North, but not without a stop in West Virginia. We found a ski lodge that was in its off season and managed to get a couple days there pretty cheap. Man was it worth it too, because it was right near the entrance to the gorge which brought another day of hiking.

I hope you guys enjoyed! We certainly can't wait to do another one. We were thinking destination New Orleans next time. What do you think?
