RE: Prague/Czech Republic - Sunday photo challenge - share your personal pictures from your visit to the Czech Republic!
This is one of the original 13 city gates in Old Town. Built in 1475. The tower was intended to be an attractive entrance into the city, instead of a defensive tower. The gate was used to store gunpowder in the 17th century, hence the name Powder Tower or Powder Gate. We were part of a walking tour and didn't get a chance to walk inside. I would have liked to have seen inside. Still, a landmark not to be missed.
The powder tower sure is an unforgettable landmark that is definitely worth visiting. What a great entry to start of the week.
