I'm Going on a Holiday!

Nope, this is not a shot from an after ski -party (I don't ski), but me announcing where I'm going soon. This is a total clickbait because I'm going to ramble enough that you'll have to open the post if you want to know where I'm going. Sometimes I think I'm like super clever and funny.

I'm hauling myself under the hot Thailand sun,

which has to be a different sun than we have here in the North.

Two weeks from now, I'll be switching this arctic proof down jacket and all the wool layers for sun dresses and bikinis.

At the moment I'm so pale than you can literally see through my skin, it's not a good look in my opinion. I can't wait to get a little tanned, get tan lines and have my freckles back! And for the love of god, please don't start preaching me about skin cancer, before you try living in Finland with severe vitamin D deficiency and number of skin concerns that all get better as soon as my skin sees the sun. It's not like I could start looking like an old leather handbag in two weeks.

Even though I really like winter too, I've been dying to go somewhere warm for ages! We even missed summer here in Finland last year, I think I got sun on maybe two days, that is not enough. I finally have the time, and money, to go for a proper tropical holiday! Finnish people are crazy about Thailand, so I'm finally going to see what the fuss is all about.

I think this is the outfit I'm going to wear on the plane, because it's always so fucking cold in there, and when I arrive to Bangkok airport, I'll just throw off the jacket and I'm ready to go. Smart, huh?

From -15 degrees Celsius to +30, I'm prepared for it all!

Are YOU prepared to see me in a bikini for two weeks straight?

I have probably ten pairs of them ready...

PS. There is proof in the first picture that I really do take my pictures on my own.

Best of luck for the tour.
Yeah when I read the title and saw picture I was like is she going to Antarctica 😁
By the way wearing this less dress how did you manage to survive in the snow?

What tour? Do I have a band and we are going on a tour? Why was I not informed?

Wow you are really white!! You will be a huge hit in Asia and especially Thailand. Asians value light skin as a reflection of a privileged lifestyle and that you do not have to toil and work in the sun. Lighter skinned people are perceived as more wealthy and are held in higher regards. You also have red hair but I do not know why they love red heads as much as they do but I am sure your beauty, white skin, and red hair will make you a celebrity!!

Have fun and take lots of pix!

I do not intend to be "hit" or "celebrity" in Thailand, that is just weird. I'm a tourist in there and the people serve me only because I pay them, not because I have light skin. And I do not have red hair!

In Thailand I did not find people treating me like a "celebrity" at all or looking at my skin color, there are a ton of tourists there and I don't think it's unusual for them.

Well said. I think it's important to hold in mind those things that unite us rather than external factors which can be used to buy into this illusion that we're all divided into an "us versus them" social dynamic.

I wouldn't expect it in Thailand, but if you make it to Vietnam, and I highly suggest that you go to Vietnam, it's an amazing country, you may get a bit of... weird celebrity type stuff there. I'm pretty tall, and VERY white. I have been around SE Asia twice and when I am in Vietnam I quite often get asked by local kids in villages if they can take a picture with me, seriously. Also lots of older ladies, especially in markets, will grab my hands and tell me how beautiful my skin is. It's a strange thing but I think it is more common in Vietnam. I was confused the first few times it happened because I think Vietnamese people have freakin gorgeous skin, and so I eventually asked one of the ladies why they all say my hands are so beautiful, and she told me "Your skin is so white! We looooove white skin!!" haha, I was so embarrassed.

MOST OF THE WHITES THAT CANT GET A GF OR HAVE AN UGLY GF, GO TO THAILAND AND VIETMAN...LOL..

STAYED IN THAILAND FOR 2 YEARS. RUSSIANS ARE THE MOST SOBER AND WONDERFUL WHITES IV EVER COME ACROSS, ALSO KNOW A FEW AND ONE OF MY FRIEND MARRIED ONE RECENTLY.

HOWEVER MY RECENT FIRST EVER TRIP TO USA, I FACED ALOT OF RACISM. ALSO WENT TO MEXICO, AND FELT MORE SAFER IN MEXICO EVEN BY THE WHITE MEXICANS/LATINOS. DIDNT FEEL LIKE ALIENATED IN MEXICO. ALSO MADE A POST ON IT.

Yesssss! Thailand is amazing, but be sure to check out Malaysia too if you have the time - the food there is the best you can get in South East Asia!

Disclaimer: I'm from Malaysia so this comment might be a little biased. :P

Vaya que si estoy preparado jejeje, eres hermosa, también prefiero los climas cálidos y tropicales que esos climas hostiles fríos, que disfrutes tus vacaciones
