Water is an essential commodity which is vital to life but how assessible is this commodity where you reside? You don't know how the availability of water is important until you experience scarcity.

All my life i have stayed in a riverine area where water is easily gotten without breaking a sweat. Where we have boreholes and pipe-borne water everywhere as a result of the closeness of the water-table to land. I am from akwa ibom state in Nigeria to be precise and i've never for once had difficulty in assessing water and clean water for that matter.

But when i travelled to Enugu state i discovered assessing water easily here is a little bit of a problem. For the first time in my life i actually saw a well, as a person who has phobia for height looking down the well was a bit scary but later got used to it. The water was not that clean but yet that was what the dwellers use for cooking and the rest of the needs.

I discovered they had very few boreholes here and it costs so much to dig a borehole here because the state is hilly and hence the water-table is not close to the surface hence the digging has to be so deep.

For the first i saw a primeval water source which you have to exert pressure to pump the water so i decided to share with you all. This is where majority of the villagers come to get their water. The water from this source is cleaner than from the well and preferable. They water source is surrounded by tall trees and even a shrine closeby but i dare not go there. The ground is covered in red rocky sand. Here is a beautiful sight of nature
