by december2014, the incumbent president, dr. goodluck jonathan of the PDP and general mohamadu buhari of the all progressive congress (APC) emerged as their parties presidential candidates. nigeria was then set for a two horse presidential race since PDP and APC were the two biggest parties in the country.

as both of them hit the campaign trails, their platforms became clearer for dr. jonathan, it was transformation and for gen. buhari, it was change. the citizens began weighing their options. they threw up each candidate's strenghts and weaknesses, wondering them will better solve nigeria's problems of insecurity, corruption and wea; economy.

the hawks from each party launched negative campaigns while the citizens minds were beging made up .
