100 Word Stories. Week 5. Can You Write an Engaging Story in 100 Words? 20 Steem and 700 Trail to be Won
Big is beautiful … but less is more.
A little less time for you this week - Nuff Said!! My apologies.
An explanation from a judging perspective: pictures are important to a post’s presentation; formatting and the aesthetics of the page as a whole do really matter when writing blogs.
The judging criteria are, however, simpler:
Mood
Characterisation
Atmosphere
Surprise
Creativity
Composition
Linguistics
When someone writes that English is not his or her primary language, it is heard. Try to avoid them but, if there is a typo or an excess of words, it will be communicated. The organiser’s role is to assist you to enjoy the experience of writing your work as well as enjoying the works of others.
There are now several Short Story Groups who receive the winner’s post every week – and every week I receive very complimentary feedback. These are in addition to the standard Facebook, Twitter posts. So, thank you all and please write on!
On a weekly basis there will be a new theme about which to write your 100 word (or less) stories – poems are more than acceptable, as are multiple entries.
100 Word Contest Regulations
- Participants are to submit their stories in posts with the #100words Tag as the primary tag. You have to use the 'hash'! Otherwise you will be told that the tag must start with a letter.
- More than one entry is permitted, though this may be reviewed!
- All entries must be in English.
- Organisers reserve the right to publish all entries submitted.
- The contest will run from Monday to Saturday. All entries must be submitted by 6pm NY time on Saturday, 15th April.
The Theme for this week is:
“CURIOSITY”
Prizes are as follows:
1st place receives 400 TRAIL and 10 STEEM
2nd place receives 200 TRAIL and 6 STEEM
3rd Place receives 100 TRAIL and 4 STEEM

I do hope so - well, there was Curious George! The children's books which werw a great success.
Curiosity did kill the cat but we are unsure as to "Who Killed Bambi?"!!
The Sex Pistols were such fun!
