If you buy STEEM

in #investing7 years ago

I heard a pretty funny objection to investing in STEEM. It boils down to:

Don't buy STEEM. They'll just give the money to their bloggers.

Imagine if that's how people approached legacy markets.

  • Don't buy Procter & Gamble. They'll just give the money to their chemists.
  • Don't buy Microsoft. They'll just give the money to their developers.
  • Don't buy UPS. They'll just give they money to their drivers.
  • Don't buy Honeywell International. They'll just give the money to those engineers with those big old beards.
  • Don't buy Disney. They'll just give the money to cartoonists.
  • Don't buy US Dollars. They'll just give the money to the military-industrial complex.

Well said, @inertia. There are too many people (I'll avoid the t-word) who like to bash anything they can. They must feel so cool.

Posts like this should remind people to add value to discussions they participate in. I've never seen in-fighting in an industry like cryptocurrency. Yes, competition can be rampant but this isn't competition because most people don't have a vested interest beyond speculation.

Funny thing indeed, but it has a psychological component in it.
The fact is that the traditional companies are afraid of the new market changes that would imply that when customers buy the new product (STEEM), they usually don’t buy the old product (TRADITIONAL PAID PRODUCTS). To exemplify this, when Toyota sells a Prius, the customer rarely buys a Camaro too. Thus, as the people re-orient themselves for alternative products driven by technology, traditional ones have to suffer.

Good post!

Well said, i ll buy some more!

I like the last point tho:

"Don't buy US Dollars. They'll just give the money to the military-industrial complex."

I guess that´s what they do, if there is anything left after paying the interest on the national dept , poor tax payers!

If you exchanged the sbd for steem, then it does not count?

I really agree with you @inertia.
Steem really has prospects and i am not slowing down in buying them.
The ability for a new user anywhere in the world to start a blog with no money and immediately rank posts high in Google combined with the potential to earn money directly from upvotes makes Steem 10 times better than WordPress, Blogger, Medium, or any other blogging platform I have used. Within 3 to 5 years, I think Steem will become the #1 blogging platform in the world as bloggers like me continue to change our blogs completely to Steem to get more traffic and make more money from posts. On top of this built in ability to blog, any developer can easily add new apps to the blockchain to expand functionality such as video hosting with @dtube.

It is better to give money to bloggers than to megacorporations.

Strike one

Hahaha... you describe the thing in a brilliant way.. Love it
