Hello my dear Steemians,

*

My post today I decided to do because of reading more and more often such post about Burning Steem and that some of Curators of SteemcuratorXX accounts asking people to take part in such Initiative. Recently while we were running our Contest “I am WOX” I noticed this post from @ alexarelates and thought that I need to write my opinion about that too.

First of all, it is something that was brought up by Witnesses to „Burn Steem“ in order to bring the Price of Steem up but then it was a talk about thousands and maybe Millions that would be able to change the Price.

If you remember the time when once the Price of steem went to $0,50-$0,60 it was the moment when there were Millions of Steem movement on exchange that of course made a Price.

What about an ordinary user who for example received 2 - 30 Steem if he will burn it if the Price will go up or even of the Community will burn their daily payout of 100-500 Steem if that will influence the Steem?

My answer is NO, that will not change it, but that will:

  • make the poor users from developing countries even poorer
  • we know many of them can’t Power Up because they buy food for their Payout and financially support their families but why then they should instead of using Steem for their daily survival just burn and that definitely will not make sense.

People, think first and do what you think needs to be done and do not do only because you want to receive Steemcuratorxx Upvote.

Hi, @stef1, I really appreciate your addressing this issue, as I have always considered you a user of judgement, who always tries to do her best on Steemit.

I am currently in Club100 and not because I am over money, mind you. In fact, I would never have money left over because I would always find a good use for it. The only money left over is the money you don't need.

I am very concerned about the pseudo fanaticism with which many users tend to run after the vestige, the hint, of an initiative. Sometimes I seem to find myself deciphering hidden messages in a thread of smoke that forms figures, like someone who reads tea leaves, or like those profilers who know how to read the slightest gesture.

The last time I heard of @null, it was a name immersed in conversations between Witnesses and Whales. Now I see it on the mouth of so many users, and I wonder what part of the picture I'm not seeing.

Will I make any difference by setting 25% of my rewards to @null? Will a thousand of us make a difference by setting 25% of our rewards to @null?

Hi @marlyncabrera,

Will I make any difference by setting 25% of my rewards to @null? Will a thousand of us make a difference by setting 25% of our rewards to @null?

...the answer to that is no, not in the same maner like when all the big fishes and amybe the witnesses too wil do so, because the mass of the STEEM coins is lying there in their accounts.
so it doesn´t make sense to call fro the poorest accounts here to be part of that because after they have burned some they will have non for voting or feeding their families.

We got thist issue some times in the past also lots of discussion but nothing happend, if all the big accounts (with more than 5k steem will take part in such an event with 25% of their earnings only thus would be a lot of steem going on in dust and steam to bring the price up.

But at least we are in a market cicle not only Steem, mostly all the coins actually there is so much rumor in the world what intends to influence the markets negativ, so why working against a force what is set up from outside of our crypto universe ?
Waiting fpr the price to come up and fire out as much posts "now" to accumulate steem at a low price would make much more sense, never operate against the market will there is a saying in the world of the exchanges and investments "the best deals will be the ones when nobody else will buy" !

So that´s our chance instead of burnig senseless steem for nothing, we could make more posts to get more steem which will be worth more in the near future (that was many times before the same, believe me), or the ones who are able to buy actually steem could do so and accelerate the price with this actions with the same effect but for all of us including the tiny accounts ;)

un abrazo muy fuert desde Andalucía (Spain)

Thank you so much, @don-t. What I can conclude from your reply is that the solution is two folded. 1. We must get Steem: a. produce posts to earn Steem and also b. buy Steem to benefit from the low price--if possible. And 2. Organize and unite the efforts of the fittest accounts to send their % to @null.

Saludos.

The people will move there where they will find benefit for them, it is like fish that is looking for where the water is deeper and there are enough food. If there is any alternative platform then they will move, you are right.

I agree with your reason and it is justified, it is actually hard to earn steem and many people earn lesser, they can't afford to burn it.

I have no clue what would be the solution but a will power to owners of tens of millions of stake to burn it themselves which I guess will no t happen anyway.

But at least STEEM's value is influenced by BTC and pulls it up in certain bullish cycles and that is my our consolation about it. @stef1

Thank you @cryptopie for your feedback, I have the same thoughts and do not see any sense in motivating people to burn their Steem, but there are many who do so in hope to receive higher Upvote from SC01, but when they receive it SC01 receive curation reward but the user is burning his own reward does not make sense for me.

Thank you sir @stef1 for this helpful suggestion

Thank you for reading.

you're welcome

Thanks for sharing this post about burning steem, now I understand more about what all this is about.

Thank you for reading I hope people will understand and then decided what to do.

I agree!

Yes, that is the point, I was surprised to see that some users still follow burning in hope of getting higher Upvote which again make no sense at all.

On other hand that only shows how easy to manipulate the masses if someone has a Power.

Yes, you're right. Unfortunately, that has always happened everywhere.

It's getting more and more confusing for me every day about some of the decisions made by them. Then I asked myself, what am I looking for on this platform?. Previously they campaigned for power ups, and that could only be done by people who had jobs and steady incomes. This is unfair to some, WELFARE is just bullshit. Let me not get big rewards but I'm happy with what I do, and I'm happy to be in the WOX community. I'm proud of you @stef1, always healthy!. 👌

Thank you @adivender, I absolutely agree with you, this is very confusing campaign and people just run behind and do it just in order to get some upvotes but then they burn 25% of it. SO no sense for me especially when such activity is encouraged to be done by such smaller users like the majority of users.

Totally agree with your opinion. We are even still trying to do power ups and partly to buy internet packages so we can keep posting
