How to free write?

How to write

if you have no clue what to write about? You can use a prompt to find a topic or simply pick a word out of a book, magazine, from a poster on a wall or use a phrase someone said. Totally blanc? Ask someone else for a word. 'Feet' is a prompt and so is 'I don't know', 'it beats me' or 'go'.

It's up to you, your brain what you write. No need for a storyline, don't check on typos just write, type, on and if the timer stops you can edit and justify your post. You might be surprised how much you can write in 10/or even 5 minutes a day. This way of writing is also a great tip for diaries writers.

The diary game is a hit on this platform and it doesn't take much of your time to type 5 or 10 minutes a day. It's not about the amount of words but the story you have to share or want to share with others.
If it comes to a diary it should actually be a rambling on post like this since that is what diaries are for emptying our minds to make life easier. They are our private shrinks squeezing our souls and making us better persons, people who understand ourselves. So squeeze whatever it is out and shine. It's a bright day if you let it be.
Never give up on writing is my tip since it's the best way to improve your skills and find your true self.

If you write - freewrite!

30 secs left what do you think did I write something valuable?

Score: 1600 00:00 278 words - timer 10 minutes

Did I or do you want me to type more words, some nonsense just to make what I wrote labelled as quality content? I had 3 typos and Grammarly gave me 8 "rectifications" which I ignored. It's up to me which words I use plus Grammarly is not always right. This tool makes it difficult if it comes to longer sentences, poetry and if your layout is different from what is expected.
Is AI all bad? I don't think so 'cause a calculator just like word counter.net is a great help to me. BTW you can count words easily if you know the average words you type in one line and multiply it with the number of lines you wrote.

I will save the raw freewrite underneath the justified/edited one so you can see the difference.

The timer for the writing exercise used I will save and try again if I have a prompt in mind.
Who knows it saves me time and forces me to invest less time in writing. I doubt it but's worth the try.

To me, free writing is relaxing since it's not about what is written but being forced to write. It's also useful information to see how a text without a storyline develops, and a peep in the mind of a writer.

Note: many texts start slow or boring. If it's not catching just delete the first part and start in the middle.
If I want to keep the advice given to me (a minimum of 550 words) I have to type more nonsense but sorry there's nothing more to share except that I'm a mobile phone writer and type with one finger from my bed.

Gosh, I made it.

Hi, I really liked your text on how to write without having any idea of what to write. I think you have given some very useful and practical advice for those who want to express themselves freely and improve their writing. I find very interesting the journal game and the freewriting method, which allow you to empty your mind and find your voice. I also found it funny about ignoring Grammarly and writing with one finger from bed. You are an example of perseverance and creativity.
I think you have written something very valuable and you don't need any more words to prove it. What is important is quality and not quantity, and you have been able to convey your message with clarity and humor. I congratulate you for your work and I encourage you to keep writing, sharing and doing what you love. 🍀❤️

Thank you dear for stopping by and commenting. With you I agree it's about the message not the 550+ words. I read so many texts where people keep repeating themselves just to reach the minimum of words (can be 200 or 300 as well but they advice to write a minimum of 550 to make it a quality post. It doesn't make sense to me.

I write in bed, you can try it somewhere else. If you ask me the bathroom is good for a 5-10 mimutes write too.

Most time I waste with editing/justyfing and looking for a picture that fits to the story/title (I am not great if it comes to that, Canva eats my time 🥴).

See the latest post of the freewriters community (prompts) and feel free to tag me.

Perhaps this post helps you too? I basically write everything in a freewrite style it sames me a lot of time.
Searching for links, 'truth', fact checking and so on I do too but after writing. It's time consuming as well.

Imagine that every time you write something without thinking too much, without worrying about making mistakes, it's like you're making a magical drawing on the blank sheet. This special drawing comes out from your heart and tells about you, what you feel, and what you dream about. Even if sometimes you say nothing, just the act of taking the pencil and making your drawing (or writing your words) is like telling the world: "Here I am, this is me!". It's a bit like when you play and express yourself in your own way, without anyone telling you how to do it. So, every word or drawing you make is your little personal revolution, a way all your own to make your voice heard.

I made drawings this way you too?
To me freewriting is one of the most creative ways of writing and it is like you say: the soul speaking.
If you adk me this is what #steemit needs - it reminds me of the contest 'how sincere are you on Steemit".

Unfortunately, it's rarely done not to mention the lack of rewards but it's good for one's soul which is the biggest reward one can have.

Thank you for sharing your thought I hope you join the freewriters see #freewrite @freewritehouse

Happy writing!
