Specification

mangrove forests are forests that grow in brackish water and are affected by tides. This forest grows especially in places where there are puddling and accumulation of organic matter. Mangrove ecosystems are characteristic, both because of the puddling resulting in a lack of soil abrasion; high salinity of the soil; as well as experiencing inundation cycles by tides.source

Country having mangroves

Mangroves grow in 124 tropical and subtropical countries with an area of around 15.2 million hectares. Indonesia along with four other countries (Australia, Brazil, Nigeria, and Mexico) represent 48% of the world's mangrove forest. The mangrove area in Brazil is estimated at 1.3 million ha, Nigeria (1.1 million ha), and Australia (0.97 million ha), according to research by Spalding et al., 1997.source
