Issue Of Steemit In Aceh

in #aceh7 years ago (edited)

Aceh is a province within the state of the Republic of Indonesia out of a total of 35 provinces, is a province whose people are poor but have abundant funds in the centralized government system of Jakarta on the Java island. In 2017, Aceh ranks 2nd as the poorest province on the Sumatra island.

Aceh is still the second poorest province of Sumatra, which is 16.43 percent or 841 thousand people until September 2016. The first is Bengkulu province with a percentage of 17.03 percent. The second poverty rate for Aceh is still the same as the period from January to September 2015 and March 2016.

In essence, the Acehnese have an innate intelligence level and a spirited challenger. (sentence feels like a compliment).

But something unexpected, a steem bomb exploded in Aceh, and continued to spread throughout Indonesia like a virus. The #aceh tag is a popular one, and then uses the 70% Indonesian tag from Aceh, partly written in Indonesian. Results of observationt, some Aceh users remain at its founding, using the #aceh tag and posting in English.

What is felt for the existence of the steemit platform?

This platform is like a new job vacancy. Make a post, then get rewarded. User creates content like a journalist working on a news site.
Sometimes the benefits received exceed the average incomes in Aceh. It's very tempting. There is no age limit for all users.

Rights of the child.

If @steemit is considered as an employment. Therefore, steemit.com will be struck by the LAW OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA NUMBER 10 YEAR 2012:

That the child has the right to be protected from economic exploitation and to work in any work that harms or interferes with the child's education, undermines the physical, mental, spiritual, moral, and social development of the child;

Then another reason is, unicef.org.au released: A simplified version of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child

Article 1. Everyone under 18 years of age has all the rights in this Convention.
Article 2. The Convention applies to everyone whatever their race, religion, abilities, whatever they think or say, whatever type of family they come from.
Article 3. All organisations concerned with children should work towards what is best for each child.

What we are experiencing now in Aceh, children under the age of 18, are skipping school and coming to Internet cafes to rejoice with Steemit or similar cases. They do everything just to make money from the posts. It is done without parental guidance, or their educational institution.

A question. What is the age that is restricted to join in steemit.com?

Let's discuss.
How to solve this problem?

Quoting "Steemit Terms of Service":

Steemit is not targeted towards, nor intended for use by, anyone under the age of 13. You must be at least 13 years of age to access or use Steemit. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority where you reside), you may only access or use Steemit under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.

Thanks @gtg, I forgot to re-read the Steemit Terms of Service. I'll read it back

As I have seen, there is no age limit for opening a Steemit account. At least there is no method of verification of the age.
On the other hand, writing on Steemit is not a employment, even if you receive money for it. The product (your writing) is not being sold by Steemit, thus you do not "work" for Steemit. At best, it could be said you are a freelance author selling your writing to Steemit. Also, Steemit does not demand a certain amount of content from a user. You can only read other posts, or comment them.
In view of that, Steemit cannot be regarded as the "employer" of the people who write here, who is responsible for work conditions, under aged workers and similar things.

Thanks for your response, undeniable.

THE AGE OF STEEMIT's USER is the main problem that must be discussed as soon possible. Restricted age must be noted on rules.

@taufar I guess Age is NOT a problem for review Joining in steemit
karena steemit bisa membuat masyarakat aceh maju
alahkah leubeuh got menyoe ukeu na masalah, ta peugot sosialisasi montong
seubab maken lee ureung aceh yang mengerti dan bergabung leubeuh got
menyoe memang pemerintah melarang, jeut ta lakee peugot audiensi dengen pemerintah
loen akan sabee support segala program yang dijalankan oleh #aceh steemit community :)

Policies that must be set.

In essence, the Acehnese have an innate intelligence level and a spirited challenger.

Points that are not realized. If we realize that, then self-confidence will grow and become a challenger in the international community.
Being a challenger in the international world must have to use a language that the majority understood by the international community.

The possibility of a scientific treatment of a history means a wider experience, more mature maturity on practical grounds, and ultimately a full realization of a definite basic idea based on the nature of life and time.

Interesting blog to resteem.
Hello steemians look at this guy @vannour
He is great writer in steemit.
This blog tell us about #aceh-community
Thanks Mr. @vannour for your creation and science about our country

Age doesn't matter but you have to sign up with an email address but to have an email adrress you must more than 13 yo. That's it I guess.

Yeah, but a company must have its own rules on age restrictions.

Nice post to let us make a discussion. I think steemit no need require user age restriction, so if they can write well, go ahead, cause steemit like other blogs I think.

I understand you shouldn't have an account when you are under 18, those are the terms you agree to when you register.

But when we're in the community, there's no age-limiting problem. Now, we see users under 18 years old

There isn't a website in the world, including Steemit, that can stop underage people from using the site. You can work in FB too and it's also against that site's policies for children to use it, they still do and no one cares. I've seen people take more action here on Steemit, I've seen people actually getting flagged for constantly posting about their kids for example.

I have read posts where parent let their kids use their steemit account once in a while, that makes me happy as there is at least an adult watching. No one will let a kid put any rubbish on their blog.
