My Actifit Report Card: November 24 2019

in #actifit5 years ago

Usual “lazy” Sunday, with a lot of desk work and church stuff that ate into steps. Still got 20,000 in, probably because I did my morning walk and then an identical one in the afternoon because I needed some caffeine.

No game today because I had family in town. Bit of a shame, because I could probably use the socialization, but whatever.

Had to write a romance-genre story for my creative writing program, and I had some real difficulty with it. It wound up heart-wrenchingly apocalyptic, but ended it on a somewhat upbeat tone, so there’s at least a little strength there. I’m mostly happy with it, though I think I may have pushed some of my limits a tad too far, and there’s definitely a shift in style between the first half (which were several days’ work, despite not being overly long) and the second half.

I’ve been having problems remembering my dreams, but I have a vivid dream image from last night of a dog–a trained attack dog, maybe a police dog?–latched onto my forearm. There’s probably a little symbolism there, but also I’m not much of a fan of dogs so it could also just be an anxiety manifestation now that I don’t have “late to the class I’m teaching” to worry about. Didn’t hurt or anything; in fact, I associate it more strongly with a dream in which I was fireproof and walking unhindered through smoke (this is, again, a simplification, but I’m really ready to go to bed). But still something that I’d prefer not to dream.
