A North Shore Trip
There is a tiny ocean at the top of Minnesota. It's not really an ocean. It's fresh water. It's not even a sea, but it's just as big as some, maybe larger. Lake Superior, one of the largest fresh water lakes in the world. And, always cold. There isn't any comfortable swimming in these waters. Though, it's been known hardcore surfers come to the coast in wet suits to crash some waves. They can be quite large at times. These waters are a force to reckon with with rock walls spanning much of the coast in sheer hundred plus foot cliffs. That's why we come up here, for the climbing, and well, the nature is nice too, specially during the fall time.
@velveteendream and I battled some cold nights camping out. We got one day of good inland climbing in.
On the second day we were a bit drizzled out so we took a drive to the Black Beach:
And hiked around Shovel Point:
The scenery was in prime color change and even in the misty cold it was a good time.
Especially coming indoors for a nice warm lunch and cup of coffee.
Nice seeing you guys back here!
Keep posting! ❤️
