River Crossing

Adventures in climbing don’t always involve going up (and back down). Some of the best areas are off the beaten path for the casual hiker and more extreme measures must be taken to reach the desired crags.

A Tyrolean traverse is needed to cross over open free space between two points. A zip-line is a common example. Often in rock climbing, the traverse is moved across a rope using the strength of the individual, rather than gravity.

More info on Tyrolean traverse can be found on good ol' Wikipedia:

Wow
Good time

Yes, yes indeed twas.

You should try jumping over haha :D

Considered it. But this was more fun. :)

i would like to do. Very exciting

I recommend, with the proper equipment.

Wow! Very brave! :D even though I'm a mountain addict, never thought about getting this kind of equipment with me ..

Meh, with the right gear, all is good. Most mountain adventures I don't think require such measures. This was the only way to get across the river to the intended rock face we wanted to climb in Boulder Canyon that day.
