The Journey of The Flying Hippo...a creative adventure...escapism...a true story.

in #adventure7 years ago (edited)

On 1 February 2016, depressed and feeling marginalised. Having become exhausted by societies dysfunctional levels of bullshit. Rising from my own sense of despair. Looking to find inspiration. Began a cycle journey. Creative rebellion? Started from Pretoria South Africa. That took me through Namibia, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Egypt, Sinai Provence, reaching Israel. With the bicycle that became affectionately known as "The Flying Hippo”

The journey took me through many highs and lows. Survived severe Malaria (Plasmodium falciparum a parasite, and the deadliest species of Plasmodium that cause malaria in humans. It is transmitted through the bite of a female Anopheles mosquito) I got so sick I thought I might die in Tanzania, Jailed in Nairobi, Kenya (that was unfounded), and cycled through Ethiopia during a civil conflict. Questioning prejudice and fear. Exploring and photographing remote African tribes. Was touched by the lives of real people, oblivious to western society. Many who gave me courage to continue. And find solutions. A journey that taught me about gratitude and humility. Above all to trust life, follow my intuition...Live with passion. Below is the video of The Journey of "The flying hippo" please enjoy the adventure.

There are several video’s on my youtube channel from the journey cycling through Africa can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/user/MrImagineCedric instagrame: imaginecedric that I started producing as a creative outlet. The video’s are footage from some of my adventures around the world. Places like Nepal, India, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, United Kingdom where I lived over five years. (July 2008 - August 2013) Originally from South Africa. When traveling fairly regularly, life as a present-day nomad. It becomes more necessary to adapt the sense of home and culture. Realising “culture is NOT our friend”. Learning to be open minded. Please support my channel & creative adventures. For the inspiration. As we progress in the journey of life. Hope to share many more adventures.
