The coast of Cascais, Portugal
Living in land-locked Northern Illinois for the first 23 years of my life, I had never been to nor seen the ocean. This realization almost haunted me for a time. Last winter however, I had the pleasure of visiting Portugal for a pre-med shadowing fellowship, and I made it out to the coast. It was beyond breathtaking and I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to see the ocean for the first time.
This spot is called Mouth of Hell because of the rumbling sound the water makes as it rushes through.
