An idea which will make my home better

As a medical student in Africa’s most populous nation Nigeria, it has become a normal thing to hear from the mouth of lecturers that there is lack of substantial data on so many health problems and health related issues. This has resulted in that each time they come to talk about they come to talk about the epidemiology of a particular problem they make use of data from European countries and other developed countries, similarly our test books also do the same. This data unfortunately only tells us about what is going on in these developed countries making us not to know the reality of the occurrence of diseases and health related events in Nigeria.
On surfing the internet and listening to news I discovered that this is not only a problem of the health sector but also a problem of all sectors in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

As we all know to make a good decision on how a next step should be done, the first thing you need to do is to get quality information in other words quality data. Inability to get this will make you to just be in a state of hit or miss, which is very very bad state when it comes to governmental issues as this will lead to wastage of resources making the nation not to go forward but remain stagnant if not collapse. No wonder Africa can not develop as fast as other nations. In my research about the solution on how these data can be easily gotten I came across opiria.

Opiria is a decentralized web-based platform which allows organisations, companies and governments to get personal information from people and in exchange offer them some tokens as payment for given data, participating in a research or survey.
Interesting features of this project are
Firstly everyone can interact with the opiria platform as long as he has a smartphone or computer this is good because majority of people have smartphones in africa or at least a smartphone in his family or locality so everyone can participate
Secondly the opiria platform can be used to analyse data collected saving time for research work.
Thirdly a person gets paid for giving his data or participating in a survey. so people will feel more encouraged to participate in more surveys. Again anyone who needs to conduct a survey just need to pay some amount of money out of which wiil be used to pay the participants of the survey.
