Is Family Important ?

The question goes more like this: Is family the only group of people entitled to each individual's special consideration. When thinking about it, the notion of family is an exclusive notion. Indeed, for a person to be important in your life, another person has to be less important, otherwise the discrimination does not exist.

See, I think that a mother is a vehicle for an individual new life. Why should I be the only person entitled to her love ? By extension, why should only family be entitled to my special consideration ?

Family sure has its social importance in the current way we have constructed our societies. However, it does not mean that one is incapable of being loving and caring to a "stranger".

is family as we conceive it really important ?
