                    The Solar Panels in Space

Solar panels in space is a modern concern which will utilize the space based solar power system transmitting wireless ENERGY.  That energy will be received on to receiver down to Earth. powers system has been the major focus of alternative energy industry  and Environmental experts of the world due to it’s zero or minimum  carbon footprints and better energy efficiency eliminating the noise  pollution.

The ordinary solar panel system

We produce solar energy using conventional solar panel system (PV panels), we will produce solar power using spherical sun power generator  in the future which is another futuristic technology with amazing  efficiency and accuracy utilizing a dual-axis tracking system, Now we  are aiming at the vastness of space to collect solar power from the sun  in the space and transmit Wirelessly to the EARTH.

Japanese Space Agency (JAXA) is researching and working to develop an effective space based solar power and wireless energy transfer.
Space Based solar power systems (SSPS) is aiming to transmit solar power driven electricity to the Earth by 2030 by using large square solar panels in space.
Solar panels in space are a tough task to achieve but it is not impossible to transmit wireless electricity. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) successfully  experimented a ground demonstration test of wireless transmission of  electricity which will be the base for solar power production from the  space utilizing solar panels in the space or an entire array of the  panels.

Working of solar panels in space

  • Solar system in the space will have measurements of more than 2 miles along each side.
  • The Spaced based Solar power will be collected in the panels just like any ordinary solar panel system.
  • But the efficiency will be higher due to an absence of dust and any medium.
  • Solar panels in space will generate approximately as much 10 times more than ordinary solar panel system on Earth due to an absence of resistance and zero weather effects.
  • They will rotate with respect to Earth.
  • The Solar panels in space will face the Earth.
  • Each side of solar panels will use microwaves to beam the energy down to EARTH.
  • There will be a receiver which will receive the space based solar power-driven electricity.
  • A huge solar battery will revolve (36,000 above Earth) around the Earth in the future.

Challenges 

JAXA is estimating that solar panels in space will generate around  the same amount of energy as one “Nuclear Reactor” but it will face  challenges.
Space based Solar power is an old idea, in 1980s United States thought  that they could generate solar power from the space, but they switched  to ordinary solar panel system due to technological and economic  problems.
According to Mr. Goto “, one of the major challenges in the modern human race is to transmit solar power from SPACE to EARTH 

Future

Scientists are working on a receiver which will receive the space based solar power.
It will be 1 mile in diameter and will float on the sea, aiming to assemble it with the grid.
Robots will take care of the maintained and the care of solar panels in space, JAXA will launch a robot astronaut in the space to work on their solar panel system. Each craft will have an effective lifespan of 40 years, that is the expectation of scientists.

Space  based Solar power is an essential part of creating a better and green  future which will thrive on renewable-based energy systems and devices.
While the scientists of JAXA are working on the futuristic solar panels in space.
