Jhené, I declare my love to you.
Have you seen the latest Jhené Aiko's 23-minute short-film "Trip"? It was released before her new album of the same name. What can I say? I'm dazzled. What a work of art. I've always respected Jhené for her honesty and opennes, she's not afraid to be vulnerable and emotional and she says whatever the eff* she wants. I loooove that! This film got me crying like a little baby, so you should get yourself some napkins before you watch! The main topic of the whole film is very personal - Jhené 's expereincing her brother's death who died from cancer in 2002. She tried to overcome it by desperately looking for love in men. She thought they would replace her brother. But of course, they never could. Most of the songs begin as poetry which makes them even more sensual. Jhené herself called this piece of work a M.A.P. — the movie, the album, the poetry book. If you haven't seen it yet, go and check it out right now!
