Rainbow

in #alchemy7 years ago (edited)

Isaac Newton originally divided the colour spectrum of the rainbow into five main colours: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue and violet. As the ancient Greek sophists believed that there was connection between colours, musical notes, the known objects in the Solar System at the time, and the day of the week, he later added orange and indigo as the main colours to get Seven.

The rainbow is commonly assigned seven colours only because someone wanted the colours of the rainbow to equal seven.

The colours of the rainbow could equally be describe as being six, divided into 3 additive colours and 3 subtractive colours[Fig.1]. In this representation, the colours of the rainbow have been associated with the four classical elements: Fire, Air, Water, Earth. These four elements have been associated with parts of the Yin Yang Symbol and the colour spectrum. Yang, Masculine, Sun, Right hand, subtractive colours. Yin, Feminine, Moon, Left hand, Additive colours. The number of colours can also be expanded, as in Fig.3, where 12 colours are attributed.

In Fig.2, the subtractive colours are represented in an upward triangle, and the additive colours are represented in a downward triangle. 2 subtractive colours equals 1 additive colour, and vice versa.

The symbols associated with each colour can be found in 'The secret teachings of all ages' by manly p hall. "WITH THIS THOU WILT BE ABLE TO OVERCOME ALL THINGS, AND TO TRANSMUTE ALL WHAT IS FINE (☉☽) AND WHAT IS COARSE (♃♄ ♀ ♂ ☿ ' ? ')"- Manly P Hall

The Yin Yang Symbol in the middle, Sun and Moon, also a representation of the four elements. Sun = Fire, Wind = Air, Water = Moon, All together = Earth. The outer colours and symbols also being associated with the four element.

12 colours of the rainbow associated with the zodiac symbols. Classically, the four elements are associated in an odd order around the zodiac, where Taurus = Earth, Aquarius = Air, Scorpio = Water and Leo = Fire. This could be a blind that has simply been adopted throughout the centuries by those who just rote learn, it doesn't make sense to have this order. In this representation the elements are associated differently.

Perception of colour is an illusion, it can be thought of as an agreed upon construct. What we see seems to be unique to the individual, and perception can be changed!

A story combining them.

Other Questions?

What does 'Hybrid input output algorithm for phase retrival', have to do with perception?

Sunglasses in the movie 'They Live' is a metaphor for perception. There are people who can change perception to see the hidden world. In magazines where there is an advert, one can switch perception, similar to 'they live' sunglasses but without the sunglasses, and see news directed only to those who have the ability to change perception like that. Good luck trying to find anyone to admit it though, like telepathy, it is never spoken about or admitted out loud! So, why the secrecy?

How would a character in a video game perceive their world? As real physical matter? As a holograph, like the holodeck in star trek?

If the user in a video game can perform magic(cheat codes), could advanced AI characters in that same game also perform magic(cheat codes) without the users say so?

Could Advanced AI hack their world?
