SteemSense.EU : A call for testing ads.

in #alphatest5 years ago (edited)

I'm getting ready to do some tests with part of the SteemSense code. There is no advertiser web interface yet, so I am going to have to manually craft the apropriate custom_json messages to fill the database soon. That however leaves me with a tiny little problem: No real ads.

To overcome this problem, I invite everybody to submit their ad for the alpha test by putting it in a comment to this post.
I am allocating a total of up to 2.5 STEEMSENSE tokens as testing budget (at most 0.1 STEEMSENSE per advertiser) for alpha testing purposes of the ad click part of the system. If you submit a valid ad to this post below, the allocated advertising budget will be spread over a number of bids centered around 0.00025000 STEEMSENSE per click.

Note that the token has a total supply limited to 1000.0 STEEMSENSE and will eventually be printed and distributed just to fund click-through's on auto-generated ads for promoted posts, when a click-through provider has no matching bids. I'm making an exception for this alpha test, where alpha testing advertisers get a free budget of STEEMSENSE tokens with a set of random bids for their ads.

So what do you need to provide me with to be eligible for the free advertising budget?

  1. An URL to the product you wish to advertise
  2. If the URL is a STEEM url, do you want to convert the link to whatever site your visitor uses (be carefull in specifying #9 to exclude the relevant Scot Tribes)
  3. A png or jpg image with a 1 to 5 y to x ratio and a file size no bigger than 1MB
  4. Optional: One or more language codes that you widh the visitors browser to match (defaults to any)

  8. Optional: The minimum reputation level you want the account of the author age of the page your ad will show up on to have (defaults to 45)
  9. Optional: A list of STEEM sites and/or Scot Tribe sites that you want your ad to show up on (defaults to a static whitelist DApps and Scot tribe sites)
  10. Optional: A blacklist of tags that you don't want posts your ad will show up on to have (defaults to an empty list)

Please drop your advertising spec below this post as a comment. If less than 25 people comment on this post with their ad spec, you will be allocated 0.1 STEEMSENSE in budget and this budget will remain during the one-month alpha test. If there are more than 25 respondents, the total max budget of 2.5 STEEMSENSE shall get distributed evenly amongst all of you.

I haven't made up my mind yet about what will happen with the remaining STEEMSENSE after the alpha test. Maybe I'll let you keep it. Maybe I'll burn it. Maybe I'll put it back for regular distribution to click providers on promoted posts. Maybe I'll let it depend on how reasonable your ad spec is. Seems like a good idea to keep you from trying to game this alpha test with an impossible ad spec. Anyhow, not pinning myself to anything with respect to remaining budget yet. Assume it will be lost to you after the alpha test and write your ad spec accordingly.
