What 1900'S Car Manufacturers Have In Common With Cryptocurrencies

When this happens, the multitude of coins being traded is likely to thin to a few. Or at least thats what history would have us believe. Youtuber Ivan on Tech - a cryptocurrency youtuber and developer has drawn the interesting comparison to the infant car industry in the 1900s. Screen Shot 2017-07-04 at 11.46.09 pm.pngScreen Shot 2017-07-04 at 11.45.55 pm.pngThe vast majority of "Defunct Automobile Manufacturers" Where present in the early 1900's and where out of business just years later. The overall trend being a move from many suppliers of a new technology to just a few long standing survivors today. This is also similar to rail road mania in the 1800s that saw 100s of rail road companies established. There are many examples of this in history.

So the question is, will this be indicative of cryptocurrencies future? I believe that it will be. This places an emphasis on buying quality coins that have a long term value proposition.

Good analogy. I think those coins with true real world applications will survive. I think GAME, DCR, STRAT, ETH, DASH, LTC, PIVX and STEEM may be the survivors.

Coins that will survive (seeing the present): Dash, IOTA, Ethereum.

What about Ripple, Litecoin, Bitcoin, Zcash and Ethereum classic?

NEM is a better Ripple, Dash is a better LTC/BTC. Zcash may carve out a niche if Dash doesn't implement ZK proofs in the interest of mainstream adoption. ETC will probably stick around as a low-cost alternative to ETH, I've seen a few projects looking into using it.

What do you think about the ETC Emerald update coming out? Seems like a bit of a no brainer to be holding ETC right now. Once there's been a few ICO's on ETC the price will no doubt be double what its at now. I predict it will be at least half that of ETH within 6 months. There's an article about it here:

I really do find your blog posts and videos very insightful. Thankyou for posting

Interesting. This Ivan guy also talks in an understandable way.

and he knows what he's talking about being a developer. This last video shows he's really starting to think like an economist too now. Cryptocurrencies require a strange and rare mix of Economics, Finance and IT.

I believe it's a very nice comparison, continue the good work I follow you on Youtube, great job! Thanks!

Thanks Carlos, what are your crypto predictions this month?

I don't do predictions, I invest on the long run :)

hah clever man! Thoughts on ETC price after the upcoming emerald update?

I'm led to believe Correlation does not imply causation.

Love this analogy! History often recycles.
