#Amazingbulgaria : Plovdiv- Begining - First day

This summer 2017 I went discovering the amazing Bulgarian lands. With my huge luggage and my tall boyfriend Yann I spent the whole month of July in this wonderful country.

Why Bulgaria ?

We have been asked this question quite often and after one month I almost have an answer ;)

We started our journey in the lovely and warm town of Plovdiv : the oldest inhabited european city !
After Sofia, Plovdiv is the most important place in Bulgaria. About 6 thousand years old, the city offers to its visitors a huge heritage, a hot summer and an impressive cultural cradle.

First day in Plovdiv

We arrived at the Bike Hostel were we had some rest after this exhausting day (hard to believe but crossing whole Europe can be quite tiring). Then, we met our host Konstantin, a very nice man that described us the city and several interesting spots. It was our first amazing meeting since Konstantin appeared to be a very positive and caring person, always ready to help.

According to his advice we tasted our first bar in Plovdiv when the sun went down : Ujen Polah 2 (Южен полъх 2). The place offers an idyllic garden where we enjoyed the mildness of the summer nights to the sound of the fountain lapping. You need to know that as temperatures are very high in Plovdiv ( about 40°C/ 104°F by day and 20°C/ 68°F by night) several bars and restaurants are used to offering very sophisticated gardens and terraces for people to refresh and escape the heat.

So our first day ended in this enjoyable scene, preparing ourselves to discover what Bulgaria has to offer.
