Amber Heard Has the Most Beautiful Face, According to Science

in #amber8 years ago (edited)

The face that launched a thousand studies! Amber Heard has the most beautiful face in the world, according to scientific facial mapping software. Dr. Julian De Silva, who runs the Centre for Advanced Facial Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery in London, analyzed Heard’s face using the golden ratio. This Greek-based number of Phi, or 1.618, represents aesthetically pleasing proportions and is long thought to be the secret of beauty.

According to science. LOL. So this may be true in the U.S. but beauty is a subjective thing. What people find most beautiful in one part of the world may be completely different in another. If you find natives who have not been exposed to many people, they may not consider this the most beautiful.

In this study what was their control? What was their methodology?

I believe strongly in science. I see that word thrown around often though without actually having the rigors of the scientific method applied to it.

With that said I am from the U.S. and I do think she has a beautiful face. I don't know that I'd call it the most beautiful, but it is beautiful enough it'd be hard for me to know without doing a study of my own. Yet I am also just one individual.

Another thing about what people find beautiful. It seems to drift with time. The shape of a woman's body that is considered most beautiful is very different depending on what century, and which culture you poll.

EDIT: I still up voted your post because it is interesting. I do get a bit SOAP BOXY when it comes to people casually throwing science out there (not you). If they didn't practice the scientific method then it is not science. A lot of so called science is not that. It is a great word to use if you want people to blindly trust your authority though. A big part of the scientific method is to always question and challenge ideas. If they survive the questions and challenges they get stronger and remain valid. It is never wrong to ask questions and challenge things, even your own beliefs, if you truly practice the scientific method.
