Who or What Is Behind Door #1?
Who or What Is Behind Door #1?
By Butch Dias
When I was a young boy living in Fairhaven, Massachusetts my parents always left the house unlocked. The door was always open for anyone to come in. That’s the way it was at that time. We had all my cousins and grandparents living on the same street. I don’t think anyone locked the doors. That was the age of Leave It to Beaver. There was innocence there in those years. Mrs. Cleaver was every mom. I guess I’m dating my age. The younger generation may not understand what I’m talking about. People had great morals and life was good. You could trust people’s word. A hand shake was your bond. Nobody would ever think of stealing or hurting anyone. I grew up in a great era and time.
Unfortunately Times have changed. Doors have to be locked and chained. Advanced security systems are needed and still you are not safe. I have had my house broken into several times with locks, dead bolts, and alarms systems. I have had many items stolen like; money, jewelry, TV, and electronic things, safes, and many treasured things that can’t be replaced. I have had cars broken into and things stolen from them. There is nothing safe anymore. It doesn’t even matter what city or neighborhood you live in. It doesn’t matter if you live in the city or the country. Not even the people who protect us are safe. Our police force is not safe anymore. Our precious monuments are not safe anymore since 9/11. Not even the Statue of Liberty is safe anymore. The Pentagon was not safe, how could anything else be safe. Our borders are not secure and safe. We have the most security in our airports and they are not safe. Out ports are not safe and they are covered with more security than in the history of the United States.
Security has been heavily increased in our airports and ports because of the terrorist threat of 911. In the airports these people are coming in legally. Why is there such concern? We have spent billions of dollars in our country just in security because of this day. The innocence of our live will never be the same. Our children’s lives will never be the same. America is not safe anymore. The world is not safe anymore. Our lives are not safe anymore. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 1:7 NLT; “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
Terrorism brings fear and it thrives on bringing fear to the people’s hearts and minds. Fear the Bible says is not of God. If fear is a spirit, what kind of spirit is fear? God and angels are spirits and demons are spirits. I wonder who initiates the spirit of fear. Fear is a demonic spirit. So those who spread terrorism are from a demonic nature. The definition of terrorism from dictionary.com says, “The use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes.” Dear is describes in dictionary.com says, “a destressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid.” The threat is real. The threat is getting worse daily.
Now after the terrorist attacks of 9/11 on the World Trade Center our perspective has been altered. Innocence is gone. Trust is gone. We have to be diligent to keep our country and families safe. We need to think in ways we never did before. We need to be diligent watching and praying. We need to thing as a soldier would. The world has become a war zone. The attack on 911 has shown the world what devastation can happen to America. This was not an accident, not a mistake, not an act by a lone nutcase, not a welcome party by a peace loving religion, but a strategic, brilliant, well thought military attack on our country.
We do not know what people are planning to do? For the rest of our lives, our kids’ lives, and our grandkids lives we must always be watchful and on guard. We don’t have the luxury of letting our guard down. As a boxer when I let my guard down I got hit in the face. It hurt and it was a hard lesson. Do we need another lesson like 9/11? Not me. 2 Timothy 2:3 NLT says, endure suffering (hardship) along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. We are to act like soldiers the Bible says. Was Timothy preparing us for such a time as this? Ephesians 6:11 NLT says, “Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.” Soldiers study their enemy. It is the only way to get victory. Information is power. Gathering military intelligence is a must. Even the Bible says to stand firm against all the strategies or schemes of the devil. The devil plays dirty as we saw on 9/11. Do you think our enemy will play fair? No they won’t. I didn’t see anything fair about 9/11. Do you think that the enemy will send their terrorists in the middle of some refugees? Yes. Do you thing the enemy would use young innocent children to blow up our soldiers? Yes we have seen it in the past. Do you think that America’s enemy will play clean or dirty? As we have seen in the past and in 9/11. They will play dirty and do whatever then can to win. If we act like we have our heads in the sand like nothing will happen we will perish. The world has changed for the worse and is getting worse. We must change our way of thinking and think like solders. We just can’t open our doors to everyone because we don’t know if door #1 has a terrorist, or door #2 has a bomb, or door #3 has a beautiful flower with poison gas. Do you know who or what is behind door #1? Do you know how many terrorists will come in our country when you open door #1. Do you know how many sleeper terrorists that are preaching peace and when the time comes, they kill you and your family. Would you open your front door to your house to a stranger in these times? I remember when I was young we use to thumb everywhere and things were so innocent that people picked you up and gave you rides. I remember getting invited to their mom’s house for supper. You don’t even see it anymore because people know the signs of the times. America it is time to wake up!
God has called Christians to be lighthouses. We need to share our light. Lighthouses are meant to warn others (ships) of impending doom. It is not an easy job. You get a lot of criticism and abuse. (Like the storms and seas that hit the lighthouses). The Bible says to let your light so shine. There is so much darkness in the world today. We need to wake up and see that there is trouble beyond our shores and there is danger ahead. We need to call people and pull people to safety and not let them perish.
I love America! God Bless the USA. Blessings, Bd.
