I don't buy the cartel hit story. They sold glass pipes on the beach, they seem like pretty small potatoes. I don't imagine the Mexican police are honest, or competent. The usually try and solve tourist killings but pot growing hippies are probably a low priority. The media stories have been nasty, and the comments from readers even more so.
