Slave trade and human trafficking pervade all aspects of our day-to-day living. Like an iceberg; we only see the glistening whiter-than-white plateaus of society and 'being human'; in reality the majority of human existence manifests in the darkness, hidden in the shadows and slowly drowning in silence.

Thank goodness for the interwebz letting us shine a light on all that.

very true @clairdoloriet. Most have never seen through the tinsel... that so-called "civilised" society is just a softer (but more insidious) form of slavery - Walden 2.0. Whilst physical freedom still poses many of us challenges, psychological freedom is always at hand in every moment (the only moment). As @freeborn society so rightly points out, we should feel blessed to be part of the vanguard in these "interesting" times..

Oh my gosh..never thought of it like that. I was about to post about how dismayed I am that we (society.. UK as I am based here) has become so lassez faire in its drive. We seem to have normalised the acceptance of the status quo; and this is mostly unjust and corrupt behaviour at systemic level... when will people pinch themselves and realise that this, as a nation, as a society is not acceptable.

Have a look at Michael Tsarion's work for - amongst many other highly relevant topics - the psychology of the Master/ Slave dynamic and how the slave plays as important a part in the continuation of this abusive relationship. Not easy to hear, but when it's unpacked it becomes evident. Of course, the collective psychology has been hijacked by fuckers like Bernays and B.F. Skinner and all the other social engineers and so we see most people taking the easy option and choosing not to address the myriad of inconsistencies in their own psyche; ignoring the calling of their True Self.

This gives you the essential points:
