Time to get ready and prep for a SHTF scenario. I'll be going over many different things in this series

Part 1. Surviving the Economic Collapse

A world without money – it’s difficult for modern minds to imagine. However, not only is it possible today, but it’s been the case before. Humans lived without money for far, far longer than we’ve lived with it.
As the economy once more becomes shaky and unstable, more and more people are beginning to wonder about the wisdom of putting all their eggs in one basket, so to speak. There is another financial disaster coming. No one knows when, but the reasons are self-evident.

Greed.

Unethical trading.

Profiteering.

Corporate gluttony.

Mounting personal debt.

Unequaled national debt.

Those are just a few of the reasons that an economic meltdown will eventually claim us, but there are others. Peak oil and the depletion of our natural resources are two of those. What will you do when the economy collapses? Where and how will you live if that collapse is total? What if the government crumbles with the economy? It’s not just possible, but likely. Sound frightening?

Surviving a financial apocalypse wont’ be easy, but with the advice, guidance and examples set forth in this series, you will be able to do so.

It's ALL Coming Down:

War in the Middle East; Russia and the Ukrainian civil war; the continuing inflation in the US; the ongoing financial woes of Europe; the lingering economic problems in the US; the potential collapse of the EU…all of these are either happening right now, or are distinct possibilities in the near future. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

What does that mean for those living in the US? That depends on how far things go, but you can bet that tough financial times are ahead for all of us. We’ve lived through the Great Recession, but something infinitely worse is very likely just over the horizon.

Financial collapse, the meltdown of the economy.

Like it or not, there are horrors in store for the people of the US. With a financial collapse, you won’t have:

A way to buy food or water

Operating utilities

Any investments – your capital is worthless

Any means short of looting to get fuel for your car

It’s all coming down.

There are dozens of potential financial disaster scenarios, ranging from a plunge back into the tough times of the recession to complete and utter financial collapse, followed by the eventual collapse of the US infrastructure and government. State and then local governments would likely follow in the widening spiral of destruction.

What will you do? How will you survive when there is either no money to go around, or money isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on?

Think your investments in precious metals will help? It’s possible, at least if you’ve bought gold and silver in physical form and stored those metals at home. But what about the immediate future after a financial meltdown? Do you think you’ll be able to buy goods with precious metals when everyone else is looking for food? It’s unlikely.

Is it really coming? Yes, most of the world’s financial experts agree that the global economy is ripe for another “correction”, which is economic-speak for crash. They only disagree on the severity and the duration.

It’s your job to be as prepared as possible for that desolate future. Do you have the resources at hand to survive if your power and water go out, and there’s no expected return of those life-sustaining utilities? What happens if the cellular network goes down and your cellphone is just a pretty paperweight?

What happens if the collapse is total? Where will you go if the federal government imposes martial law? What will you do when the government can no longer pay its soldiers, and succumbs to the weight of its own decay? With no more central government, how will you survive?

It’s a bleak scenario – the potential for the utter dissolution of the US.
But it’s a distinct possibility.

You need to prepare for any eventuality, and that means protecting your family, home and food stores even in the face of a society that’s gone to hell in a hand basket.

The good news is that there are lots of ways to not only prepare for the immediate fallout of a financial meltdown, but to prepare for life after society – a time when the paper dollar will be used more often as a fire starter than as a means to facilitate trade.

Great article, Jim. I am the most hardcore prepper that I know. Diversified into seeds, tools, food and spices, medicines, water purifiers, electronics with faraday cages and soon getting gas masks and large fuel tanks. Following you. Keep up the great writing.

I am also a hardcore prepper. This is going to be a VERY long series. I am going to try and post daily on this. Hopefully everyone enjoys it and learns at least a little bit from them.

Very good information. Trying to learn how to be prepared!

Stay tuned then! I have a lot of information to add to @steemit in the coming days and weeks.

Thanks for the information!

Absolutely! This is just a snowflake on the tip of the iceberg. Keep watching for more. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
