Weird has it may seem, countrys come and go. Go look at the map of the world from 100 years ago. Look what is slowly happening to Spain or the UK. Will the US cease to exist just like that? I don't think so. For me the biggest threat is the trillions of dollars debt, and the insane printing of money. One of these days the economy is going to crash because of it, and it's not going to be the US alone. It might even not be long from now. I definitly can see a States like Texas, for instance, parting from the US at some point.
