Sepat Fish Found in Indonesia for Consumption and Ornamental
The Fish Named Sepat
Sepat is the fish that is known as consumption fish, although some species are traded asornamental fish. Sepat include to a group of freshwater fish belonging to the Trichogaster clan, members of the gouramy tribe (Osphronemidae).
Sepat has a flat body with a pointy muzzle and a small mouth. Sepats cales are small, beveled, in various sizes. Perfect side lines, tubular shape that is sometimes slightly curved. The dorsal fin (dorsal) lies far back, but ends a little way ahead of the caudal fin.
The ventral flippers are deformed; the first pair of soft fingers turned into a long-flavored whipper along the length of the body, coupled with a pair of short spikes and a few shortsighted tufts. Anal fin (anal) extends from below the chest to the base of the tail. The tail fins are slightly divided, while the pectoral fins are more or less tapered.
Sepat Fish
There are several types of fish that can be found. There can be used as food consumption, some can be used as ornamental fish. Types of fish that are usually found in Indonesia is a type of swamp fish and siams sepat. For swamps fish usually consumption fish.
However, sepat swamp also has other variations that have bright colors that can be used as an ornamental fish. The second is Siamese fish. Most of these fish are preferred for consumption because they have high protein.
