The Great Rabbit Rescue Of Bunny Blockchain.

It started as a break in the storm. Locked in the house for a few days except for the daily walk in the rain we decided to go and pick up a few things we needed and get some fresh air.

My heat lamp bulb for the quail had died, so we pulled into a pet store to get an instant replacement. As I walked into the store I noticed something was going on in the back of the room. Intrigued I walked over to see what was going on. A rabbit rescue was having a bunny adoption event. There was a bunch of different kinds of rabbits in little pens along the back wall. I have been wanting to spend some time with rabbits for awhile. One of my most memorable childhood friends was a rabbit named teddy. I sieged the opportunity and said hi to each one going down the line. Their was a bunch of cute babies, and really unique colors. They were sweet but kind of boring to be honest. Most likely because they were scared. Sweet little guys, I hope they all get a home soon. They were all flashy colors so I imagine they will.

Then I got to the last cage. It had two rabbits in it a big white rabbit and a smaller black rabbit. There was nothing striking about the black one, average looking, I even thought how this one is going to be hard getting a home for. In all my rescue work (which is extensive) The plain colored animals, especially boring colors never even get looked at. I have a black cat I rescued, the lady that found her had too many as is in her shelter. She told me the black cats have an 80% kill rate compared to other colors in cats. Maybe its the dumb myth about them being bad luck.

I walked over to pet the white rabbit, she was rescued from a abuse case. They where raising rabbits for meat, she was under a few cages with wire bottoms, her fur was stained a yellow form having her fur soaked her whole life in urine. The black one was her last baby. She had given birth to three rabbits, two black and one gray. This was her last one. She is such a happy affectionate rabbit now, rescued four month ago and treated very well by an compassionate foster mother who had walked over and was telling me the whole story.

It was then the little black one took a giant leap in the air and kicked his feet out to the side and shook his head, landing gracefully by me. He stood up on his hind legs and I swear he said "These people don't get me."

I turned to the foster mother and asked about him, she said the white mother was who she would adopt. "Ok", I replied, "but what is up with this one?"

Oh he is a bit of a trouble maker I was told. He bit the rescue lady on the hand when she was putting her hand through the bars with food, they don't know why.

Hmm...... I could think of a few reasons why that might of happened, I didn't say anything, she as nice.

I look over at him, he does another impressive ninja move, whips his head to look over at me and again "nobody gets me........ I am a freaking ninja!" He flops over in frustration and heaves a big sigh.

I get you little guy, it's hard to be punk rock with a bunch of haters.

"Can I hold him?"

"Sure if he lets you, hop in the cage with him."

So in I went, and he ran up to me and jumped right in my lap, the rescue started to gather around. I heard whispers "Do you see that! He Loves her, look how calm"

The little rabbit looked at them, "She gets me" And I did, he was a badass ninja, fearless and brave.

"This one is coming home with me" I said proudly, he will tell is story and let his punk rock attitude live forever on the blockchain.

Bunny Blockchain has been settling in very well, here are some Gif highlights of his first day.

He climbed way higher than I knew rabbits could climb to look at himself in the mirror.

He also started to make friends with me cat Midge. When she hisses, he backs off making her feel comfortable. The hissing stopped by the next day.

He has been doing really well, I will keep you all updated on Bunny Blockchain.
