Lizards in St. Thomas at Coki Beach

in #animal7 years ago

I went on a cruise in December and one of our ports of call was St. Thomas. Initially, our itinerary changed to an alternate port due to the recent hurricane damage. Thankfully, a few weeks before we sailed the itinerary was switched back to include St. Thomas.

@donvee and I hopped on a taxi and headed to Coki Beach for some snorkeling and relaxation. That's where we came across these guys

There had to be at least a half dozen hanging out around the tree we sat near. They were very inquisitive, coming right up to us.

While I was in the water, one even began climbing up @donvee's leg! I'm glad it was him and not me. I probably would have screamed.

Sort:

They were not lizards. They were tiny dinosaurs.

I want to snuggle them!

Those things look pretty big. Like an iguana but with darker coloring. Pretty cool.
