Wow. How did you find Tanzania to travel though? Have you spent much time in Africa?

Tanzania was awesome. My experience there was different than the typical visitor though. I lived in a Maasai village for a month sleeping in a tent while we did humanitarian work in the area. While I did get to see animals, which was pretty cool, the people are what made Africa one of the best experiences in my life. I can't wait to go back.

Sounds amazing. What sort of humanitarian work did you do?

We worked on piping in water to the village and worked in medical clinics in the area.

Fantastic! I just read the goat/blood drinking story and came looking to find out why you were in Africa (and where specifically) Beautiful work and observations. Here's my own fav elephant pic from my trip to Kenya - awe inspiring creatures for sure! Kenya! 257.jpg

Elephants are creatures to be respected and honored. They are one of the wisest. They are ancient in their bloodlines.

I agree. Elephant are such magnificent creatures. You can see the respect that the other animals give them as well. When they walked through, there were 16 lions that were stalking a zebra, but when the elephants came through, the lions got up and moved out of their path and waited for them all to get by. They lost the zebra in the process because during that time more safari vehicles showed up and spooked the zebra. But even lions show respect to a group of elephants.

We could learn from these animals. So amazing they are! That is so cool :D And you got to see it all, thats awesome.

The elephant is the most faithful animal..

can be a friend as well as an enemy

Amazing photography my youngest daughter loves elephants. But she doesn't tell many because she doesn't want to be over gifted elephant items. She only got a day in the area but she got to see them herself and that is when she fell in love with them.

It is such an amazing experience to see them up close in their natural habitat.

These are great shots, it's a shame about the rhino.
Hopefully the elephants will fare better.
